Stanislav Nikereev
tching technique is very old. Turning to it artists make a lot of efforts to stand out against other masters of cutter and acid. Some artists make a very fine and delicate pictures. Others experimenting with color and texture or create complex, fantastic plots. And only one artist seems to spend all his life sitting by the window and slowly transferring to the paper (we don’t want to think how many steps it will take the picture to get to the paper) what he can see through the window. Autumn fog. The first frosts. Silver frost. Evening haze. Falling leaves in autumn. First snow. A lonely tree. Silence. Dandelions. Bustling homestead. Cows in the meadow ...Stanislaus Nikireev’s etchings have a breath of peace in them. They are made with love for simple and eternal things, with love for one’s Homeland which is different for each person but always quiet, cosy and most precious.
